  1. Homeschool Baking Class: Strawberry Oatmeal Bars - Learn basic baking skills and make a delicious, whole-grain dessert! 
  1. Locus (Carroll County Artist’s Guild) - Head to the Carroll County Arts Center to see a collection of works created by members of the Carroll County Artists Guild.
  1. Chess at the Library - Are you a chess champion or want to learn? Show off your best moves against other chess players! Experienced and novice chess players are welcome.
  1. Kids Intro to Basic Sewing Skills - Learn the necessary basics to feel comfortable using a sewing machine. This is a beginner-level class; you will leave feeling confident about the next steps to take toward sewing your own projects.
  1. Tea Party Fun at Taneytown Library - Join the fun at a pretend tea party. Library staff will share stories, songs, activities, and crafts. The featured book will be Clovis Keeps His Cool by Katelyn Aronson, a wonderful story about kindness and controlling our tempers! There will be plenty of activities, and there will be cookies!
  1. Battlefield Reptile Expo - Enjoy an action-packed day learning about all manner of exotic creatures, from snakes and lizards to frogs, arachnids, and many more. Meet up with other hobbyists who share your passion, chat with breeders, and explore tables featuring animals, supplies, merchandise, and more – all in one convenient location.
  1. Flower and Jazz Chalk Mural - Help make a flower mural with chalk outside the Carroll Arts Center in downtown Westminster! In conjunction with the City of Westminster’s Flower & Jazz Festival, the Parks and Rec department is asking artists of all ages to help brighten our block.
  1. Police Dog Demonstration at the Westminster Library - Come learn about the Westminster City Police K9 Unit. Police dog Foxy will be here to show off her police skills. 
  1. Guided Kayak Trip at Piney Run Park - Enjoy a serene paddle around Piney Run Lake as you enjoy scenic views of the forested shoreline and abundant wildlife. 
  1. Edge-Lit Acrylic Sign Making - Edge-lit signs are a bright and colorful way to display a message or add flare to your room, desk, or workspace. In this program, you’ll laser engrave artwork of your choice onto a piece of clear acrylic and light it up with a provided multi-color LED light stand, batteries included!
