  1. Living History Reenactment at Carroll County Farm Museum - In the May 1863 battle of Chancellorsville, Confederate General Robert E. Lee, faced with a larger Union force advancing under General Joseph Hooker, audaciously divided his force, leaving a portion to hold Hooker’s attention while Stonewall Jackson executed a slashing attack on the Union flank. We will be portraying that portion of the battle, with Confederate forces on the attack and Union forces turning to mount a desperate defense to stop them. Historically, Jackson’s men drove deep into the Union flank before being halted by an improvised Union line and by encroaching darkness. The battle ended in a Confederate victory, but resulted in the mortal wounding of Jackson in a friendly fire incident.
