September 12th - 18th

  1. Restorative Parenting Group with Together We Own It - Restorative Parenting is a process for rebuilding parent-child relationships in the aftermath of trauma in the family. It is an opportunity for every voice to be heard and for healing to begin.

  1. Preschool STEAM at Eldersburg Library - Join and explore a STEAM topic with a story and hands-on project.

  1. Basic Knife Skills at Exploration Commons - This hands-on class will cover everything you need to know about caring for your knives and how to use them. You’ll learn how to chop, dice, mince and get plenty of practice with other professional cuts. This is a beginner's level class.

  1. National Double Cheeseburger Day - Grab a burger to celebrate at Rafael's Restaurant.  Tell them Macaroni Kid Westminster sent you.

  1. Robot Coding with Pepper at Exploration Commons - Code with Pepper, CCPL's social humanoid robot! Program Pepper to strike up a conversation, dance, or tell a story using the drag and drop interface, Choregraphe. No previous coding experience is required. Pepper was funded by a Library Services and Technology Act Grant from the Maryland State Library and Institute of Museum and Library Services. 

  1. Preschool STEAM Days: The Three Little Pigs at Taneytown Library - Join the fun and share the traditional story of The Three Little Pigs, as well as a funny fractured version. You can sing along with some music, create a craft, and share some STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) activities, like building the pigs' houses and seeing if the wolf can blow them down!

  1. The Maryland Wine Festival - Join for fabulous wine tasting, food, entertainment and more at The Maryland Wine Festival on Sept. 17 & 18 at the Carroll County Farm Museum.

  1. Brewery Fire’s Third Anniversary - Brewery Fire has an awesome day with amazing live music from Mandy Buttrum, Erik Piisila, and more! They’ve got great food from The Lucky Truck and It's All Good, as well as other lite fare vendors. And let's not forget the BEER! They will be introducing Double Mangolorian, their DIPA version of their beloved mango IPA, as well as 4 amazing, brand new, barrel aged beers. Come celebrate on September 17th!

  1. Super Smash Bros Tournament at Taneytown Library - CCPL's Taneytown Branch is having a monthly Super Smash Bros. tournament, so join to show that you're the best Super Smash Bros. player in town! No prizes, just glory to the winner!

  1. Lura Johnson at The Carroll Arts Center - Steinway Artist Lura Johnson is celebrated by critics and audiences for her insightful, emotionally impactful performances. The Washington Post describes hearing her play as “one of life’s great pleasures.” The Baltimore Sun praises her “surging expressive force… impressive bravura…” and “exceptional vitality, color, and impact.” Performing more than one hundred concerts annually as a soloist, chamber musician,and orchestral pianist, Lura captures, distills, and powerfully communicates the spirit and personality of the music she performs.
