  1. FREE admission at the Carroll County Farm Museum - Enjoy free admission to the Farm Museum January 3 through the end of March.
  1. Winter Trivia Night - Animals, sports, holidays, and more - how much do you know about winter? Join library staff and patrons and test your seasonal knowledge with this fun trivia quiz!
  1. Learn to solder at Exploration Commons at Westminster Branch Library - Soldering is fun and fundamental to a wide assortment of maker electronic projects as well modern technology. From simple light-up LEDs to complex robots, solder is the glue that holds the technological world together. Join for a hands-on project where you will assemble and solder your very own electronic dice circuit.
  1. Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi! At Westminster Branch Library - G'day, mates! Celebrate National Australia Day by making fair dinkum foods we all can celebrate. This is a hands-on cooking class. Recipes include Shrimp on the Barbie, Sausage Rolls, Lamington Cakes, and Fairy Bread.
  1. Ready, Set, School! At Finksburg Branch Library - An independent storytime that prepares children for school. Fun, hands-on activities will teach listening, pre-reading, math, movement, music, and art skills.
  1. International Polar Bear Day! International Polar Bear Day on January 27 is an unofficial holiday created by Polar Bear International (PBI). It raises awareness of the impact of global warming on Polar Bears. Head to the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore to celebrate! 
  1. Cosmic Nights at Stratosphere Social - Get ready to see how they transform the park after dark! They turn off the lights, pump up the music and fire up the party lights! All ages welcome! 
  1. Take a Family Hike at Charlotte’s Quest - Charlotte's Quest is an Environmental Education initiative of Manchester Parks Foundation. This small, volunteer-lead organization creates environmental education opportunities in our local community for park visitors, volunteers, and members alike. 

  1. Visit Piney Run Nature Center - Head to Piney Run Nature Center to visit the animal exhibits and play! Take a hike around the park when you're finished! There are also playground structures to play on. 

  1. Old Westminster Winery: Sunday Brunch - Join for a taste of Maryland for Sunday Brunch every Sunday with chef selections and a delicious seasonal menu! Reservations are recommended but not required.
