- Library Loot Box: New Year, New You - Ready to take home a Library Loot Box? The Loot Box is a take-home kit with a craft, a treat, a few little surprises, and a library book for you to enjoy! The theme this month is New Year, New You, so sign up to get your very own box of ideas and projects to help you start the new year off right. Pick the box up at CCPL's Taneytown Branch starting January 10; be sure to return the box and book when you're done reading!
- Frog Prince Puppet Show - Oh no! The princess has dropped her sparkly golden ball down the well, what will she do? Frog will help her get the ball. All he wants in return is to be her best friend. Will the princess keep her promise to play with the frog and become his best friend? Join at the castle (library!) to find out the exciting conclusion to this story.
- Clay Creations at North Carroll Branch Library - The library will provide air-dry clay and tools for you to make a fantastic clay creation or two!
- Trivia Night at Bistro 91 in Finksburg - What trivia tidbits are rattling around in your head? Grab a few friends and join for Trivia Night at Bistro 91! Compete for prizes and Facebook fame! Registration required. Teams of up to five can sign up by registering online. Only one person per team needs to register.
- Auditions for Journey of the Noble Gnarble - The ocean floor is filled with the rarest of creatures, but none are as rare as gnarbles. Their fins are small, their tails are floppy, and they have never strayed far from their homes…until now. Journey of the Noble Gnarble is a story of a little gnarble with a big dream, who tries to make it past doubting blyfish, sneaky subbalubbles, and hungry plinks on his way to the surface of the sea. Along the way he befriends the glinny glims who teach him the importance of positivity and determination!
- National Curried Chicken Day - Celebrate spicy at Tim Thai and tell them Westminster Macaroni Kid sent you.
- Full STEAM Ahead - A hands-on early learning program at the library that explores STEAM concepts to spark curiosity in young children through interactive experiments and activities! STEAM is an acronym for science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. Early STEAM education aims to build on young children's innate curiosity to develop creative, analytical, and collaborative thinking skills in a fun, informal learning environment.
- Strawberry Ice Cream Day - It is believed that the ice cream flavor, which is now popular around the world, was invented in 1813 in the United States by First Lady Dolley Madison, and it was served during her husband, President James Madison’s second inaugural banquet at the White House.Celebrate with a scoop at Hoffman’s!
- January 15th, 2022 - Carroll County’s Birthday - The event will be Saturday, January 15, 2022, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., in Grace Hall, Grace Lutheran Church, Carroll Street, Westminster. Admission is free. Depending on current conditions, masks may be required. They are looking forward to seeing everyone in person to kick-off a new year!
