  1. HSCC: On Account of Sex - 2020 marked the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment to the United States Constitution. Marilyn Hanchett reviews significant events that lead to voting rights for women, as well as explore its continued relevance supporting today’s discussions about women’s and civil rights.
  1. CCPL: Quick and Easy Patriotic Decorations - Looking for some cute decorations for the 4th of July and other patriotic holidays? Learn to make a quick and easy red, white, and blue wreath and a stars and stripes flowerpot using a few inexpensive items.

CCAC: Mobiles and Stabiles - This exhibit explores sculptures capable of being moved by air currents, taking advantage of the principle of equilibrium and suspension, and sculptures that suggest movement. The terms, Mobiles and Stabiles, were coined by Marcel Duchamp in 1931 to describe the early works of Alexander Calder, who established this art form prolifically until his death in 1976. This show focuses on the interpretation of this art form by two noted Carroll County artists, Charlie Maiorana and Thomas Sterner, who have created entirely new pieces specifically for this exhibit.
  1. Piney Run Park: Large Bass Fishing Tournament - Friday, June 18 from 6-11pm at Piney Run Park - 1st Place: $200 • 2nd Place: $150 • 3rd Place: $100. Biggest Fish takes home a trophy!
  1. Carroll AG Center: Opening Day at the Summer Farmer’s Market - On Saturday, June 19th , the Carroll County Farmer’s Market will be celebrating its 50th season. This week customers will be able to purchase locally grown produce featuring lettuce, kale, kohlrabi, radishes, spinach, beets, asparagus, rhubarb, Swiss chard, spring onions, broccoli, cabbage, and cauliflower.  There will also be farm raised beef, pork, lamb, wine, cheese, honey, and fresh eggs. Our food stands provide home baked goods, including cakes, pies, scones, cookies, breads, rolls and biscotti. You will also find jams and jellies, honey, nuts, fresh eggs and more. We also have a stand selling heart healthy lean emu meat and other emu products. Our plant vendors will have hanging baskets, container and patio pots, herbs, annuals, perennials and fresh cut flowers. The Master Gardeners will also have a stand every week to help you with your gardening problems and answer your questions. Each week will offer an assortment of handmade crafts. Items available include seasonal decorations, fabric crafts, jewelry, photography, painted wood crafts and other great items. The cafeteria is open during market hours for breakfast and lunch. Pancakes and egg sandwiches are great for breakfast and don’t miss out on a slice of homemade pie or cake.

Woofstock Fundraiser: Carroll County Humane Society - Join us as we welcome back Woofstock 2021!  Bigger and better than ever at the Carroll County Agriculture Center.  Vendor Faire, Family Games, Pet Contests, Live Music, Food, and MORE!  Leashed pets are welcome.  No retractable leashes.  Dogs must enjoy the company of other dogs and people.  Dogs must be current on vaccines.  $10 admission fee per person.  Children 12 and under free.  All proceeds benefit the Humane Society of Carroll County.
  1. Bear Branch Nature Center: Dipnetting Discovery - Ever wondered what’s living in the water? Using dip nets and our hands, we’ll search the bottom of the lake for critters! Participantswill meet at the nature center and hike down to the lake together.
  1. Piney Run Nature Center: Dad and Me! With Father’s Day around the corner, what better present than a little bit of quality time! With an extra set of hands, why not build a birdhouse together to take home, and enjoy bird watching for years to come! We will provide materials and tools; you provide helping hands and imagination!
