June 7th - June 13th

  1. CCPL: Storytime in the Garden - Life of a Seed - Join Ms. Barbara for stories, music, and movement in our gardens. Come see the temporary sculpture "Life of A Seed" by local artist Thomas Sterner.  Participants will get a chance to plant a seed to take home. This program is weather permitting and masks must be worn. You will sit with only your family and must sit six feet apart from others attending. Feel free to bring blankets/chairs. 
  1. A Likely Story Bookstore: June Morning Book Club - Come discuss this month's read: Half Life by Jillian Cantor!
  1. Bear Branch Nature Center: Bear Cub Explorers - Seed Dispersal - After reviewing a nature-related theme with the help of one or more of our captive animals, we’ll head outside to put our newknowledge to the test! We’ll finish up with interactive crafts to remind us of our day. Each month explores a different theme;activities are planned for ages 3-6; tag-along siblings must register
  2. Old Westminster Winery: Live Music - Head to Westminster Winery for a picnic, some great wine, and awesome tunes!
  1. FREE Outdoor Summer Movie Night: Onward - This summer, get out and enjoy a movie with the family at our Recreation & Parks Summer Movie Nights! FREE, but registration is required.
  2. Magnolia House Studios: Zentangle on Zoom - The Zentangle® Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. The process of creating a Zentangle® is a form of “artistic meditation” as one becomes completely engrossed in making each pattern, deliberately focusing on every stroke. No prior artistic experience is necessary. Even those who believe that they cannot draw, can learn to Zentangle® and create stunning original art!
  1. CCPL: Animal Art Take and Make - We are ringing in the Summer Reading season with some animal-inspired art projects. Our take-and-make kits will be available until June 19, while supplies last.
  1. CCPL: Summer Stories Outside - We will read stories, sing, and dance. An individual craft activity will be available to complete at home. If we must cancel due to bad weather, we will send an email to the registrants on the morning of the program.
  1. Shop Local at the Downtown Westminster’s Farmers Market - The market is open every Saturday 8am-noon from the week after Mother’s Day through the week before Thanksgiving, which is the longest season of any market in Carroll County.  This gives you 28 weeks to pick up locally-grown produce, meats, poultry, pork, eggs, cheese, baked goods, coffee and prepared foods!
  1. Island Green Family Fun Center: Sunday Afternoon Concerts - Head to the Family Fun Center for a few rounds of mini-golf, the driving range, some appetizers and drinks, and great music!
