December 21st-27th

  1. Raffle for American Girl Doll of the Year - Perfect Christmas gift for that special little girl. The Parks and Recreation Department is raffling off Joss, 2020 American Girl Doll of the year. $5.00 for six chances to win. Raffle closes on Sunday, December 20, with the winner being drawn on Monday, December 21, 2020 at 9:00 am, via Facebook live drawing. Winners must be able to pick the doll up from Recreation and Parks by 4:00 pm, Wednesday, December 23, 2020.
  1. Storytime Zoom Room with the North Carroll Branch - Meet the North Carroll Branch and your friends in Zoom for an interactive and fun storytime including books, music, and movement on December 21st.
  1. Cool Crafts for a Cold Day - Craft supply kits will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis at the Express Pickup area of the Westminster Branch Library. You can pick them up during regular library hours, Tuesday through Friday, while supplies last.
  1. Open Gym Elementary - On December 22nd, drop in anytime between 5:00 and 6:00 (gym closes at 6:30) for supervised play time. Basketball, soccer, floor hockey, dodgeball, badminton, SNAG golf, bowling and more. One adult may attend with child for free. Masks required. Choice of activity depends on number of participants.

Plant this not That: Native Plant Alternatives to Invasive Species with the CCPL - Think towards spring and join avid hobby gardener Mr. Max from the Finksburg Branch for a presentation on the state of our environment. Learn how using native plants instead of non-native ornamentals will not only beautify spaces but benefit our local wildlife, ecosystem, and even climate. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A. 
  1. All Aboard the Polar Express - Storyteller Beth Rebert's delightful presentation of this heart-warming holiday tale is sure to enchant children of all ages! Join us on Zoom in your PJs as this magical story unfolds.
  1. Three Ghosts of Christmas Past - Author and medium Rob Gutro will discuss a visitation by ghosts while attending a 2010 performance of A Christmas Carol at Ford’s Theater in Washington, D.C. Although Gutro had eagerly anticipated seeing the play, he hadn’t expected a visit from three ghosts residing in this historic theater: an actress, a mysterious man, and John Wilkes Booth. Gutro’s experience convinced him that Ford’s Theater is haunted, will it convince you?
