The City of Westminster Recreation and Parks Department is celebrating National Kids to Parks Day, created by the National Park Trust! Enter our Small Fry Triathlon ($5 entry fee) at Westminster City Park, enjoy a FREE snowball, the Carroll County Library will have a book sale at the Library Park, Recreation on the Move, Westminster Police Department, bike safety and helmet fit checks will be performed, D.A.R.E. and Paradise of Fun Children FitnessFun Center will be out and about at the park!

Friday, May 25 - Rec on the Move
The mission of Recreation on the Move is to get children ‘unplugged’ and playing. Operated by the City of Westminster Recreation and Parks Department, the recreation van will be outfitted with balls, a parachute, jump ropes, hula hoops, games, art supplies and snacks. The Van will visit the library with a skilled staff member to interact and provide instruction.

Marshmallow Shooter
This is a really simple craft that leaves your mini macaroni with a fun toy to enjoy after! It's a marshmallow/pom pom shooter!
What you need:
2 plastic cups
1 balloon
scissors
marshmallows and/or pom poms
What you do:
Stack the 2 plastic cups and cut them about a third of the way down. (I used 2 for sturdiness. If you have a surdier cup, one will probably do)
Tie your balloon and cut the (non-tied) end.
Your shooter will look like this:

Easy Hot Fudge Chocolate Ice Cream Cake
My daughter begged for an ice cream cake this year for her birthday. My first thought was to hit Baskin Robbins but then she said she wanted hot fudge on it! So I whipped up this super easy Hot Fudge Chocolate Ice Cream Cake!
